Shirt Ulrich

The Ulrich medieval shirt, made by Burgschneider, is a straightforward design without a collar. Instead, two ribbons are sewn onto the neckline for tying. Since buttons with buttonholes were not invented until the 13th century in Germany, this shirt features sewn-on ribbons instead of a button placket. The sleeves extend straight to the wrist without cuffs, making it suitable to wear underneath a gambeson, where cuffs and puffing can get in the way. This rugged, 100% coarse cotton shirt in a linen-like appearance is ideal for portraying various characters such as servants, farmers, hunters, or even knights. It can be easily paired with a tunic or coat for different weather conditions or worn on its own on warmer days... just remember to wear pants.
